My Words Will Not Pass Away
This tri-part sunset, ocean painting illustrates this passage:  Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.  Luke 21:33
The original has the verse burnt into the wood it was painted on.

Mathew 5:18 says the same thing but phrases it like this:
"I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

Like most people, I love looking at God’s creation.  He made all things for us to enjoy and be thankful.
God painted a beautiful earth and sky but it will pass away, at least the way we know it now.  God will recreate it after the Tribulation, for the millennial kingdom.
The sun setting across the sky from east to west illustrates the Son leaving this earth, but when He comes back to rule every eye will see His glorious brilliance.

The eroding beach with uprooted trees and the deteriorating boat are symbolic of the things of this world passing away.  Since man was cast out of the Garden of Eden, God ordained the progressive dying of all things.  It is humbling, and reminds us not to idolize material things because they will not last.
God’s word tells us that where our treasure is, there is where our heart is.
Mathew 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal…"
Storing up treasures in heaven refers to our spiritual life; mainly our relationship to Jesus Christ and obedience to His word.  Lately I have been longing for heaven more and more and desiring a constant intimacy with my Lord.

If you look carefully one of the coconuts on the ground is sprouting new life. This represents being born again spiritually into God’s everlasting kingdom.  Lord, help me to give you and your word first priority in my life and not the passing things of this world.
